Lingovo is operated by Khaled Ait Ahmed, an individual operator based in Morocco. Khaled Ait Ahmed is the data controller for personal information processed through Lingovo.

Lingovo may collect the following categories of personal information.

Account and profile information:

• Name
• Email address
• Profile picture, if provided
• English level
• Native language
• Account and authentication identifiers

Learning and conversation information:

• Learning progress
• Lesson completion
• Streak and usage information
• English practice messages
• AI-generated responses
• Role-play and Practice conversation text
• Feedback and performance-related information

Voice information:

• Microphone audio submitted when you activate a voice feature
• Transcripts created from that audio
• Selected voice and speech-speed preferences

Microphone audio is submitted only when you activate a voice feature. Lingovo uses it to provide transcription, speaking practice, and AI responses. Lingovo does not intentionally keep the original audio recording after the request has been processed, although the resulting transcript or conversation text may be stored as part of your learning history.

Technical and usage information:

• IP address and approximate network information
• Browser, operating system, device, and app information
• Request times, feature usage, diagnostics, and security logs
• Local-storage and session-storage preferences

Billing and subscription information:

• Selected subscription plan
• PayPal subscription identifier
• Subscription source and lifecycle status
• Checkout and billing-related metadata required to manage Premium access

Payments are processed by PayPal. Lingovo does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account credentials.

Lingovo uses personal information to:

• Create and secure accounts
• Provide English lessons and AI conversations
• Provide voice transcription and speech features
• Save progress and personalize the learning experience
• Operate Premium subscriptions
• Process account deletion and linked PayPal cancellation
• Provide support
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
• Diagnose errors and improve reliability
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

Where applicable, Lingovo processes personal information because it is necessary to provide the service you request, because you have given consent, because Lingovo has legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or because processing is required by law.

Where processing is based on consent, consent may be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing already completed before withdrawal.

Some data is required to provide an account or a requested feature. Where information is necessary for a core function, declining to provide it may mean the feature or account cannot be offered.

Lingovo uses third-party AI services, including OpenAI, to provide AI conversations, voice transcription, speech generation, and related features.

When you use these features, your messages, conversation context, transcripts, and voice audio may be sent to these services as required to provide the selected feature. Providers process this information under their own terms, privacy policies, and data-processing arrangements.

Users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive or confidential information during AI conversations.

Lingovo works with the following service providers:

• Supabase — authentication, database, user accounts, progress, and application data
• OpenAI — AI responses, transcription, and speech-related processing
• Vercel — website hosting, server execution, delivery, and technical logs
• PayPal — subscription checkout, billing, and cancellation
• Sentry — application error monitoring and crash reporting

These providers receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform their services for Lingovo and may process information in accordance with their own privacy terms.

We use Sentry to monitor application errors and crashes. When an error occurs, Sentry may process limited technical error information, such as an error type, stack trace, application environment, browser or runtime information, and fixed operational event codes. We configure Sentry to minimize the information sent and not to intentionally receive names, email addresses, user identifiers, learning messages, transcripts, AI replies, audio, payment identifiers, request bodies, cookies, or authorization headers. Session Replay, performance tracing, and profiling are disabled at launch. Personal learning content is not intentionally sent to Sentry.

Service providers may change as the service evolves.

Lingovo may use Google AdSense to display advertisements on its pages. This section describes how advertising may work when it is enabled.

When advertising is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads. Google's advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to Lingovo and other websites.

You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services:

You may also manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Restricting cookies may affect how Lingovo and other websites function.

Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland may be shown a consent message before advertising cookies or personalized ads are used, where required by applicable law. Lingovo may use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform to manage these consent choices.

If you choose not to receive personalized ads, advertising may still appear. Non-personalized or contextual ads may be shown instead.

Lingovo does not sell personal information.

Personal information may be shared or disclosed in the following circumstances:

• With service providers as reasonably necessary to operate the service
• When legally required, such as by court order, government request, or applicable law
• To protect users, Lingovo, or others from fraud, security threats, or unlawful activity
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required by law

Lingovo is operated from Morocco. The cloud, AI, hosting, authentication, and payment providers used by Lingovo may process data in other countries, including countries whose privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Where required, Lingovo will rely on appropriate contractual, legal, or other safeguards for international data transfers.

Account, profile, learning, and conversation data may be retained while the account remains active. Data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, for account operation, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations.

When an account is deleted, Lingovo deletes or de-identifies associated data from active systems, subject to limited backup, fraud-prevention, security, financial-record, and legal-retention requirements. Backup copies and technical logs may take a limited period to expire.

PayPal independently controls retention of information held in your PayPal account and payment records.

You can request deletion from Settings by selecting Delete Account.

If a PayPal subscription is linked to your Lingovo account, Lingovo will first confirm the subscription and cancel it through PayPal before deleting the Lingovo account.

If Lingovo cannot confirm the subscription status or cancellation, the Lingovo account and its data will remain active so that billing is not left in an unknown state.

Deleting Lingovo does not delete your PayPal account.

PayPal may retain transaction and account information according to its own privacy policy and legal obligations.

A cancelled, suspended, or expired PayPal event does not by itself automatically delete the Lingovo account. Account deletion occurs only after you explicitly select Delete Account and the server accepts the deletion request.

Lingovo may use the following types of browser or application storage:

• Local storage
• Session storage
• Authentication storage
• Essential browser or application storage

These are used to:

• Maintain login state
• Remember onboarding completion
• Save voice, speed, level, and interface preferences
• Maintain local learning or navigation state
• Protect and operate the service

Lingovo uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, authenticated server requests, and protected server-side credentials.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their login credentials and notify support@lingovo.net if they suspect unauthorized account access.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:

• Access personal information Lingovo holds about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Request a portable copy of personal information where applicable
• Lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority

To exercise these rights, send a request to support@lingovo.net. Lingovo may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some rights may be subject to legal exceptions and may not apply in every jurisdiction.

Users in Morocco may also contact the Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP).

Lingovo is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Users between 13 and 17 years of age should use Lingovo only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

If Lingovo learns that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, it will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Parents or guardians with questions or concerns may contact support@lingovo.net.

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the service, applicable law, or operational practices. The Last Updated date at the top of this policy will be revised when changes are made.

Material changes may also be communicated through the app or website when appropriate.

Continued use of Lingovo after an update to this policy is subject to applicable law.
